These terms describe how we work with clients. They are a plain summary, not a
substitute for the contract you sign for a specific engagement, which takes
precedence wherever the two differ.
Quotes and scope
Every project is quoted after we understand the scope. You will have a written,
fixed quote before any build work begins. Anything not in that quote is not in the
project, and change requests are quoted before work starts rather than absorbed
silently and raised later.
Payment
Fixed-price projects run on milestone payments: a deposit, payments against agreed
milestones, and the balance on handover. Retainers are invoiced monthly in advance.
Supply and install is invoiced as equipment on order and installation on completion.
What is always included
Source code, documentation, training, credential handover and thirty days of
post-launch fixes. You own what we build for you.
What is billed separately
Third-party licences, hosting, domains, hardware, content writing and photography.
These are stated as separate lines in the quote so you can see them.
Ownership and handover
On final payment, the repository, credentials and documentation transfer to you.
We keep a copy only for the purpose of supporting you, and we delete it on request.
Support
Support terms, including response times, are stated in the agreement for your
support tier. A response time we cannot keep is worse than no promise at all, so we
publish only what we can hold to.
Liability
Our liability under any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that
engagement. We carry no liability for loss arising from systems, hardware or third
party services we did not supply or were not engaged to support.
Confidentiality
We treat everything we see in your systems as confidential, and we will sign a
non-disclosure agreement before the first technical conversation if you prefer.
